The Crescent Foundation / The gap
Published, not only passed.
A pass says a lot came in under a limit. It does not say where. Two lots can print the same word and carry very different amounts of endotoxin.
Drag the value
The verdict does not move until the limit is crossed
Against a limit of 40 EU per vial, a lot at 2 EU and a lot at 39 EU both print PASS. One carries nearly twenty times the endotoxin of the other.

The real figures
Every Crescent lot against its own limit
Thirteen lots, each with the same printed verdict. The bar shows where each one actually landed. Hatched bars are results below the lowest figure the kinetic method reports. Select a lot to open its record.

Why the number matters
The threshold belongs to the research entity
A laboratory that prints only PASS has decided, on behalf of every model the compound will meet, that its limit is the right one. A cell line, a primary cell and an animal each tolerate a different amount, and the research entity is the only party that knows which it is working with.
The measured value lets each one apply its own limit. The limit and the result are printed side by side on every Crescent certificate.

Two lots, one word, different amounts.
The measured value is the part of the result a pass leaves out.
